“Through my photography, I seek to document my own personal experience; to capture scenes and events as I see them and to share with other the beauty and diversity of the world as I see it.”

“From a technical perspective, I view the art of photography as a way to transform light and shadow into emotions and a distilling of reality into a personal vision.
The most important moment is the visualization and the shoot is only the last action.

I use the tools of modern photography—different film stock, filters, and digital enhancements to try to capture the emotions of an image.

I love abstract and experimental photography that forces me to use my camera without limitations.”

Poggioreale

Poggioreale is a small town in Sicily, Italy, located in the Belice valley.
It was destroyed by the Belice Valley earthquake in 1968, and rebuilt in a safer place a few kilometers away, causing the entire population to relocate.

I returned to Poggioreale Antica in 2012 and by chance, form a bond with the group of men who voluntarily shared the stories of Poggioreale, their childhood, and dream for Poggioreale Antica. Intrigued by the stories and the men, I have made approximately 15 trips to Poggioreale Antica documenting their experience and creating this work.

After reviewing articles that addresses feministic viewpoints regarding female nudity, I found that my work is aligned with progressive thoughts. In this work, the female subject does not pose for the camera, but becomes a character, immersed in the environment in which she moves. This work provides the opportunity for feministic discourse within the art world without avoiding the real message that the work sets out to convey. Ultimately, one of my goals is to challenge the viewer to appreciate theme.
